Zoe is a self-made 30 year old dressage rider from West Yorkshire, which seemed fittingly into our ethos by supporting our local up and coming elite equestrians. Zoe was hand picked to be an Ambassador by our talent seeking department as she shows true dedication to the sport, she has over come and now in remission for Cancer. She shows bravery and determination in her everyday goals as well as her long term goals, ALX are very proud to have her on our team.

Zoe started out in the Rockwood Harriers Pony Club representing them in the Dressage, Show-jumping & Eventing teams before deciding to focus solely on Dressage. She then became a member of BYRDS and represented the BD Northern region at many Home-internationals & Inter-regionals, including competing in Cavan in Ireland at the Home International along with team mate Lottie Fry - who has just represented Team GB at Tokyo 2021 Olympics winning team gold!

Zoe is a true amateur, competing & training in her free-time whilst working full time as an Overhead Line Electrification Engineer for a company in York.

"I have owned my current horse Ceejay (who was actually bred & born at Thornton, Bradford) since he was a 5 year old and trained him myself to where we currently are. Every year we have qualified for the BD Regionals, Petplan Equine Area Festivals, and BD National Championships, he has been the horse of a life time for me. I have also been part of the U25’s teams, even winning at the BYRDS Home International"

Zoe was diagnosed with cancer during fresher’s week of university in 2009 which resulted in her having to give up riding for a brief time whilst undergoing chemotherapy. This time of reflection made her realise how much she loved horses and competing and it was at this time that she made a promise to herself that one day she would compete at PSG level.

"My dream all began when I saw a loan advert for Ceejay 9 years ago. In 2017 we competed in our first Advanced tests qualifying us to compete at PSG, unfortunately Ceejay was injured shortly thereafter and it's been a very long road to recovery. Ceejay is back in full-work now and starting to compete again, fingers crossed the dream will become a reality soon!"

Following a second injury of Ceejay in 2020 Zoe decided to purchase a youngster to also be training up with Becky Moody, this is when she purchased 4year old Moreno, we think he is absolutely stunning and can't wait to see Zoe out competing with him!
